Meta Focus and Content

If Big Sky is so much about learning what kinds of things are studied? Is it a course? Where's the content?

Big Sky is about meta-issues. Learning about learning, thinking about thinking, using our brains to understand our brains. It is not a content provider for specific disciplines or courses of study. For example: While we look at meta issues about learning things like History, materials for a study of a specific topic or period covered by history are not provided. We use some history facts to explore the meta issues, but you will not find a History course here. Similarly we look at meta issues involved with enriched learning opportunities like cross-cultural immersion and language acquisition but you will not find a course of study or a body of theory about either.

As we cover meta issues we will often point toward sources for these topics and offer tools and methodologies geared toward integrating and processing them in ways which resonate with what is found here. Indeed, some of the sources are constructed collaboratively around the principles and ideas we explore. Learning how to work with learning, knowledge and the integration of any aspects the unity of knowledge is one of our goals. We will marshal information, knowledge and methods from opportunistically in pursuit of that goal.
